Press On! Ministries has grown out of our experience in church planting. In 1974, we planted Falls Baptist Church in Menomonee Falls, WI. God built a church, school, radio broadcast, and missionary outreach. After 12 years there, we entered itinerant evangelism and had a fruitful family ministry for 9 years conducting revival meetings in the USA and on mission fields. In 1995, we left our traveling ministry to plant a second church, Trinity Baptist Church of Franklin, TN (Nashville suburb).

We used a church planting method called “The Phone‘s for You” to plant the church in Franklin. After 23,000 personal phone calls and weekly mail invitations, 120 folks attended the first service of the new Trinity Baptist Church. The Lord grew the church as we pastored it the next 6 years. By 2001, we had built a building and called a new pastor. In 2001, we started Press On! Ministries to help with all stages of church planting and growth.

Claudia and I live on the road full-time in a 5^th-wheel trailer. We usually spend 6 months assisting each church planter, using “­The Phone‘s for You” as a tool to find prospects. After the first service, we help with follow-up visitation, music, children’s ministry, personal soul-winning and discipleship, land search, etc.


When our schedule allows, we also assist established churches that are stalled in growth and outreach ministry. We use a modified phone program to help them find new prospects and re-establish their presence in their growing or changing community.

Our home church/mission board is Burge Terrace Baptist in Indianapolis. We have three children. Stephanie is married to Stephen Shaw, who is a pastor in Ohio. Susannah teaches English in a college in Changchun, China. Jeremiah, recently married to Yiqian  Wang, is working on a graduate degree at Bob Jones University.
